Here's what they should do - make the kids with bad grades eat healthy lunches. If you have a 3.0 average or above, you can eat what you want.

It is bad enough for kids they are stuck in "prison" 5 days a week, 9 months a year, 8 hours a day without taking away their cheeseburgers and soda pop! (looks at his own avatar :lookaroun )

:rotfl They could at least have "good" junk to eat. Decent burgers, pizza, chicken nuggets that are real chicken (think Chic-fil-a).

True Elizabeth... I was buying frozen burgers today at the store (busy mom, what do you want? :blush ) and those Bubba Burgers are 420 calories JUST FOR THE BURGER! :faint I got the store brand sirloin burger for cheaper and about half the calories :lol Granted, that was precooked, so some of the fat will cook out, still... :sick

Friend of mine told me about the Jamie Oliver Food Revolution show, so I watched the first two episodes on Hulu today. You gotta love the "Who the haill do you thaank you are, tellin' us not to feed these kids nuggets?" attitude some of the people in that town give him. :lol

There's a reason it's considered the unhealthiest town in the U.S. :ew That Alice, she's got attitude. :rotfl

Since there are so many food cut out of Ashley's diet now, I've been paying even more attention to what I buy. A lot more fresh veggies. Not that I really ever fried anything, but all breading is out, as are meats with any type of filler (ground beef, sausage, ect). It's making us all eat healthier, which I'm glad of. This sure is expensive though. :faint Maybe it won't be so bad, once we get in the grove (have the different flours on hand and start baking some of her gluten free things myself).

Our daughter, with her gluten intolerance is costing us a fortune in healthy food!

Oh, that wasn't very encouraging was it? :lookaroun Umm . . . I'm sure it won't be so bad once you get all stocked up. :D

I need some ideas from you on what to feed her. She's picky, as well as being off of wheat and nuts. What does Emily like to eat?

Thank you so very much. I appreciate it!!! She's getting tired of yellow rice, roasted potatoes, chicken, beef tips, salad, ect. I have found some Jamie Oliver recipes that look really good, but don't have any wheat in them (I just :love him. He can cook and has that adorable accent). She's been wanting pizza. I have found a recipe for a pizza crust, but if it's like any of the other "bread" items we've tried.... (all of them have been :sick ).

If they were serving In n Out burgers I'd agree with you. I mean if you're going to eat junk food, make it GREAT junk food. Why waste your calories on crap. Lord only knows what's in that "burger" they serve. Just see the episode where Jaime shows the kids what actually goes into a chicken mcnugget.

Don't you think that's the difference between people who seem to "eat whatever they want" and be thin... and the rest of us? :lol

Ugh!! Don't even get me STARTED with those people!! My current clerk goes to Popeye's every Tuesday for their $1 a piece special and eats about 10 pieces!! And of course he's rail thin. Yesterday's breakfast for him was a gigantic chocolate muffin. Bastard.
