"Sounder" - I LOVED that movie, and I remember the father so clearly! I can still cry, thinking about it.

I hardly knew any of those.
My favorite dads in pop culture, not mentioned in the article: (some of these, I name the character, others the actor :lookaroun )
1. Bill Cosby, The Cosby Show
2. Coach Eric Taylor, Friday Night Lights I am probably keeping my DirecTV subscription just for this show right now. I want to BE Coach Taylor
3. Archie Bunker, All in the Family
4. Bob Parr a/k/a Mister Incredible, The Incredibles - this ranking is as much for the superpowers he gave his kids as for any other reason.
5. Tom Bosley, Happy Days "Mister C" was always there when needed, but knew when to give his kids the room they needed to grow
6. George Jefferson, The Jeffersons
7. Tony Soprano - powerful, but wanting more for his kids and not afraid to go to therapy to try and get it
8. Dr. Quest, Johnny Quest Hey, who wouldn't want a dad who lets you go off on adventures every day and never made you go to school?
9. Fred G. Sanford, Sanford and Son
10. Professor Robinson, Lost in Space (see #8 above)
Say what you want, I think my list is better. :lookaroun :lol

You know what, Atticus Finch would probably be in my top 10, if not actually #1. :flower
