'Toy Story 3' Chock Full of Hidden Facts and Movie References

"Toy Story 3" has entertained children and parents alike (and has made at least one childless, unmarried adult male in his thirties cry) to the tune of $110 million dollars in its opening weekend.

Chances are, considering the amount of money the film made over the weekend, that if you're reading this, there's a better than average chance you've seen the film. If you have, there are a few hidden "Easter eggs" (the cinematic term for meaningful images or references buried in a movie) worthy of a second look. Even if you haven't seen "Toy Story 3," it's worth reading on for some fun facts you can impress your friends with.

Slashfilm and ComingSoon.net have put together exhaustive lists of the Easter eggs hiding in "Toy Story 3," and the New Orleans Times-Picayune also did some digging and found a few pieces of trivia that bear repeating. Highlights of those lists include:

I didn't see the article mention the ball - you know, the yellow and blue ball with the star on it? That ball is in all the Pixar movies too, isn't it? I did see it in Toy Story 3, but had to be very patient. :lookaroun

At the end of the movie, the Luxo ball can be seen playing with the other toys in the sandbox at the daycare center.
In Andy's room, there is a pennant for "PU." Pixar has a school for their employees to learn more about filmmaking called Pixar University - PU.
The Ken doll in Toy Story 3 is modeled after "Animal Lovin" Ken from 1988.
At the Sunnyside Day Care there is a wooden version of Lighting McQueen, you can see him rolling around on the floor.

Yeah, that was what I was talking about. . . being patient and not leaving when the credits start rolling. The little scene when the credits start going is well worth sitting through. :)
