Please take this time to get acquainted with the new place. If you have any questions, please post them here. Or send me a PM. You can jump right in and start posting. The whole place is one big construction site. From here on out, things will be changing daily (mostly minor, visual stuff).

Lets play in the sand.

Note: I've left up all the default articles on the homepage, which shows off the content manager. Don't worry too much about that aspect of the site just yet. Make sure to read my latest blog entry. Thanks.

Is there any way to change the default font size for replies? It appears to be about 2-3 sizes smaller than the actual post font size.

Also, not sure if it's on my end or the board, but when I click for the new posts, it always takes me to the top of the page, not halfway down (or where the new posts start). Ideas?

Same with me. I'm never taken to the last unread post--always the top of the page.

Also, with the "old board," I could not access it at work. It was blocked - gave me some error message. I'll try again. I think it might have been because it (they? IT? the server) didn't know what SM was. Now, magic and other boards are okay. Maybe there is something in the ip code or something that can be added to "identify" the board?

Hey Oz, take a look at what is quoted when I reply to your message. It appears that the font is much bigger than the post I make.

Just trying to help and point out things when I notice them. :cool

Thanks for keeping this whole thing going. :thumbs:bow

How about now? :)

Unless it's just me. :dunno When I quote a previous post and post it to the board, the quoted reply is a much bigger font.

Font size is decent (in the window when I am typing the post or reply), although I think one size bigger might be better.:thumbs

Firefox. I have not changed any settings.

disabling the font-size:14px from style div.bbcode_quote makes the quote and reply the same size for me. :)

God I love Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/)! :D

Oz--I'm still not being taken to the first unread post--always to the top of the thread.

Ok, I just tried something that worked. When it took me to the top of the page, click on View unread posts or something like that. Took me right to yours, Sherm.

The strange thing that I've seen, is that most of the time it will take me to the last post....but sometimes it will take me to the last post that I read in a thread.

Me, too.

Is there a link that will take us to ALL of today's new posts, Oz? When I click on "New Posts" or "What's New?", I usually get only one or two threads - even though, when I look at the Forums page, there are more threads than that with newly-posted replies. :dunno

Fixed. :)

Scott/Tom, I'm researching the last post/top page issue. :goofy

Bug will be fixed on the next release of the software (tentatively going to be released some time next week)...the "view first unread" seems to be easiest workaround. Sorry guys. :flower

Can somebody point me to where I can add the number of posts on a page? Is that under my account settings?

ooh, good question!

Has anybody else noticed that when they post in a thread, that thread disappears from "new posts" search results? That just started for me yesterday. :shrug

I found it Doug. Top right hand corner, click on settings. And then menu along left, click on Forum Settings under Forum. And then when the page pops up, scroll down to Number of Posts to Show Per Page. Make your selection and hit save.

Does it not pop back up when someone makes a posts that you haven't read?

Christy

It does, its just odd that it disappears from new posts even though I just made a post 2 seconds before.

agreed. :) I'm wondering . . . just wondering . . . if someone else posts in that thread while I am composing a post, will I see the other person's post as a new post in the thread or will I miss it because mine is the newest post when I hit "send," so the thread disappears from "new posts."

Oscar Brito

I believe that once you've entered a thread, the software doesn't treat it as new anymore, since you've already viewed it/made a post. Once you leave it and new posts are made to it, then it will show again on the "new posts".
