I plan to slip my wife an extra pain pill so that she goes into a long sleep and I can sneak off and go watch some high school baseball.

:lol We usually have a Valentine's Date, but not this year since she is on home confinement while she recovers from a surgery.

I think Linda was expecting the rest of you to have exotic plans so she could rub it in my face and say: "Look, Doug is taking his wife to Paris so they can have Champagne on the Eiffel Tower.":bag

Nothing too crazy here. We decided to go out to dinner Saturday night instead of Sunday, since it will be less expensive. Also, we're not doing anything crazy in terms of gifts. I'm planning on getting him some drill bits he wants and a book he'd like. I told him not to go overboard on me either.

I almost forgot my Valentine's Day present . . . a couple of weeks ago, Leslie had a tire go flat while driving to work. Upon further inspection, she needed 2 new tires, which she bought and then told me, "Happy Valentine's Day."
If that isn't romantic . . . :lol

I've always associated "romantic" with "contrived" and "cheesy" :blush
But I do love a sappy love song and of course a good Jane Austen story. :dunno :lol
I lied, btw, I do have plans for Valentine's day... I'll be driving to Dayton to a volleyball tournament. Go figure :goofy

Flowers? Ok, they are pretty for like 2 days and then they die... and then I feel guilty throwing them into the trash.
Candy? Ok, I've been trying for like 15 years to lose baby weight from Kaitlyn!
And so help me if somebody brings a puppy or kitten! :chair

We'll spend time with the kids and then grab a bite to eat somewhere while they play with Grandma.

Last night we went to a nice Japanese restaurant not too far. He had the duck and I had a plate of different Sushis. He drank 2 Rum Runners and I drank what was called a "Porno Star Martini" :lmao I wish I remember what exactly was in it but I think 2 of the ingrediants were Chambord and Champagne. It's yummy :lol
I ordered enough Sushi so that I would have leftovers for breakfast (mind you...breakfast was at 11am :lol) This restaurant makes really fancy dishes (I took pictures and will upload them to Facebook so I can link them here if anyone is interested..) The waiter put the decoration in the take out box...I removed it and put it in the garbage can and then ate my sushi breakfast....about an hour later I couldn't figure out what the SMELL was in my kitchen...it was HORRIBLE. Phil took a look in the trash and we decided that's where the offensive smell was coming from. Apparently the decoration was made of something pretty nasty :sick :sick
Today we went to Burgery King for lunch and the grocery store so he could buy me a really sweet card and I could get an ingredient I needed to make my chicken lasagne (it's something I threw together on a whim one day and ended up being AMAZING :) ) *edit I just noticed my Burger King typo...but I'm gonna leave it there :king:king*
pretty low key. The lasagne is cooking...I took pictures of the 'making of' and I can share those in a bit too

Yesterday morning we slept in, exchanged gifts (he got a cookbook, some drill bits, and some Reese's hearts, I got a box of Godiva truffles :love) and cards, and then were just kinda lazy around the house for a bit before going to see a friend of ours.
