Has anyone taken a vacation to Munich or the vicinity?

As Linda saw me typing this, she said: "You were in Munich?" . . .

. . . but I refused to answer her. I told her if she wanted more info, she could post it here. I refuse to communicate in that barbaric, ancient form.:sealed:lol

I have a fraternity brother who has spent time all over Germany, but myself - sadly, I haven't yet been.

My parents traveled through Germany on a "National Lampoon's European Vacation" type trip years ago, and bought 4 cuckoo clocks from some German speaking shop in the Black Forest. When they didn't get delivered, I got my friend to write a letter to the shop. Subsequently, 3 clocks were delivered. I was told the one that came up missing was the one they bought for me. Some gratitude! :lol

Must have been roughly 10 years ago. When were the Spice Girls big? It was right around that time because, before we had heard of them here, they were all over the German TV and I remember thinking: "Ha, this is funny. A band like this with '70s clothes and no talent is just SOOOO European. You'd never see something like this in the states . . .":whistle

. . .of course a few months later, we couldn't get away from them here.:lol
