Low carb is the only way I can diet. I don't know why. I guess it's easy to keep track, most things the carb count is pretty obvious, and it's an easy way to cut out two of the three big bad nono "white" foods (sugar and flour, other being salt)

eliminating sweets and sticking with proteins and carbs, but only following exercise sessions. I have 10 pounds to lose and will keep you posted. :)

My diet remains the same as it has been for almost 10 years, a modified low carb diet. It's the exercise part I have trouble with :blush

My last go around...I went low carb, low calorie...

Big helping of cereal for breakfast (Special K, or Banana Nut Cheerios)
Nice lunch--vegetables/salad and chicken/pork/beef (biggest portion of food for the day)
Big helping of cereal for dinner (or soup)

No fast food. No soda.

Lost approx 50lbs in six months.

Now I'm exercising and have made the transition from the diet to almost-normal eating....doing about 40 minutes of cardio a day, sometimes I do weights....

I have to figure out a way to beat the stress though...lately I've been coming home from work and heading for the pantry. I tried the chewing gum thing...but I've been going through lots of those packs lately....:lookaroun

Thankfully I don't drink and/or smoke.

Other favorite quote so far "As a fitness professional, I question why I do the things I do sometimes. Because I wanna look good" :rotfl

I'm trying to get out and walk (now that it's been a little warmer). I'm loving my Skeetchers Shape Ups. :love They are a lot like walking in sand. I just realized that the DVD that came with them has a couple of workouts on it. I will give those a try in the next day or so. I'm also trying to get back to watching what I eat. The holidays knocked me on my butt.

I know a couple of people who swear by P90X...anyone here on this fitness program? My Dr. swears by it as well. He's been trying to get me to do it. That thing would kick my butt (which I probably need).

Alicia had asked me about it on facebook :lol Yes, it's a great workout, very effective because it's VERY hard. They recommend doing something else before attempting it, like it's a next step up type of thing from regular workouts, but I did not, I just used a shred of common sense and did what I could. Having said that, we've put that particular program on hold because it requires a minimum hour a day, and I just do not have that most days. We started doing insanity, less weight training and more cardio and I love it!! It's awesome :) They are both good, just depends if you have that extra half hour a day to do p90x or not. Most of the Insanity workouts I've done so far have been about 40 minutes.

I know a couple of people who swear by P90X...anyone here on this fitness program?I completed it last spring. If you follow the diet guide the best you can and never miss a workout and really commit, it will kick your ass into serious shape. We did the diet guide the best we could, but you have to have a lot of time and money to eat super well. We eat well, but not insane healthy.

You have to really be committed. It takes about an hour a day and it gets tough between the 60-90 days mark to stay focused. It could potentially take 30-60 days to see results. Just stick with it.

Good luck if you try it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
