I think they should just put it aside and come back in something like 5 years with a completely fresh cast, new ideas and a plan for a solid trilogy.

that's Disney...run a good thing into the ground. quantity over quality.
Disney is doing the same to Pixar. Pixar now makes 2 moves per year instead of 1 per year. Then add all the sequels, Cars 2, Toy Story 4, Monster Inc 2. Let's not start with everything in 3D.

Cars 2 was better than the original (wayyyyyyy better) Toy Story 3, obviously... but I don't want a 4th! Monsters Inc 2?? I'd rather they didn't :lookaroun

I am with Doug on never having seen ALL of Cars. I've seen bits and pieces and can't get into it much like A Bug's Life. Soo I won't be seeing Cars 2 any time soon.
Tom Hanks was on the radio with Ryan Seacrest and he said he's totally in for Toy Story 4 because he loves his character. I have mixed feelings about it but I guess we have to wait and see because the trilogy is perfect but I'd love to see what happens with Bonnie since she's a girl :lol
Monster's Inc and Incredibles always seemed like the 2 for me that should have sequels...definitely over Cars :huh We'll see.
I don't necessarily agree with the quantity thing coming just from Disney/Pixar because I just saw a preview for Mission Impossible number whatever it is. And Star Wars takes the cake for milking it for everything it's got. I can't judge until it's all said and done. I don't think John Lasseter would allow inferior quality. If he's being coerced into all these sequels, I'd hope he sees to it that the quality is of their high standards.

I hope I'm wrong and John and Steve Jobs have enough clout to keep the Disney bean counters at bay. But it does have the potential to go that way. Doubling the amount of CG in a already oversaturated field is a start.
You are correct, it all about milking for every bit of money they can. Movie companies wonder why their attendance numbers are down.
Anyone see Mars Needs Moms? You either have sequels or bad remakes of great films.

Something similar happens with Mexican soap operas.. .(where's Lili? :lookaroun)
At this point they've run out of good stories so they're constantly rehashing old soap operas, some from not even 10 years ago :lol

Cars took some getting in to for me, a bit too formulaic - arrogant successful character learns what's important in life and becomes a better "person". Plus the whole American Red Neck fascination with Nascar meant I was at a different start point with the film. But it grew on me as it progressed and I've enjoyed watching it again and picking up more of the humour, rather than thinking what an arse the lead character is.
I'm still in the minority of people in that I did not like Nemo.

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to let you all know, I don't know if my mom has said anything elsewhere, but I'm moving back to New York in the next week or so. Things here in Boise just didn't work out for me, and the team let me go yesterday morning. Apparently the slow economy out here is no excuse for poor sales numbers across the board, and since mine were really bad, they couldn't justify keeping me anymore. They also didn't feel that I was the best fit for this area or our office, which I can't say I disagree with. I'm not happy at all, and while I'm excited to be able to go back east where I belong, things did not end well for me here. I don't really know what my next move is going to be other than heading home.
So, I am indeed still alive, but once again, unemployed. :wave

I'm late with my tuppence, having been away for the week but just adding my support too. No disgrace in finding the economy hard (just found out that another 15 or so from my old work place have been given the heave ho). Q : I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.
Q : What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
A: Childbirth.
Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.
A: So what's your question?
Q?: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.
Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.
Q?: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.
Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.
Q: Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.
Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.
"ESTROGEN ISSUES"
10 WAYS TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE "ESTROGEN ISSUES"
1. Everyone around you has an attitude problem.
2. You're adding chocolate chips to your cheese omelet.
3. The dryer has shrunk every last pair of your jeans.
4. Your husband is suddenly agreeing to everything you say.
5. You're using your cell phone to dial up every bumper sticker that says: "How's my driving?".
6. Everyone's head looks like an invitation to batting practice.
7. Everyone seems to have just landed here from "outer space."
8. All family pets start tiptoeing around you.
9. You're sure that everyone is scheming to drive you crazy.
10. The ibuprofen bottle is empty and you bought it yesterday.

This crazy weather - we had a waterspout make an appearance today. Here's a photo the local newspaper put up - from about 90 minutes ago:

For anyone who didn't see this on Facebook, Rick Springfield did a local concert last Friday. My wife was supposed to go with a group who were high bidders at a charity fundraiser for pre-show access to a suite at the hotel for spa services and dinner. Although I can't do this often, I was able to call for a favor and got the group access to a pre-show meet and greet, where this picture was taken. The rub - my wife ended up having a scheduling conflict so she missed out. This is a picture posted to Facebook today by one of our friends who was in the group. :)

Heck, the drive to the terminal will probably be 10,000 times more dangerous than the cruise.

Might as well! If you're doing it anyway, and you do good work (which you absolutely do! :love)
I've often thought I should be a janitor, same as I do now, just with a paycheck coming in :lookaroun

So, I'm currently sitting in the Osceola County Courthouse, doing my civic duty of jury duty! I'm actually kind of excited. I've been called twice before but wasn't able to go for different reasons, so this is my first time. So far they've called two groups, and I was not in either of them. The nerd in me wants to get called, and then get picked for a jury! We shall see, I guess.

Enjoy! I saw your status on facebook that you were going, but I was afraid to 'like' it, because it certainly wouldn't be my favorite thing to do.:lookaroun
I've been on lists to call-in maybe 4 or 5 different times, but I've never had to go as far as showing up at the court house . . . and I'm fine with that.:bag

I served on a jury the one and only time I was called, years ago. Kind of intimidating, actually, knowing you were deciding someone's future for the next few years (it was a felony trial).

Well the reason the 2 days were a waste is that halfway into the second day, the two parties came to a settlement so they sent us home :lol

I think I was excited because I've always been curious to see how different it is from TV. I know it's no "Law & Order" type deal, but now that I'm older (ie, not in high school lol) I find I'm curious how all this goes down. I did not get picked today (none of the 16 people I was called upstairs with were... apparently too many people had too strong of opinions about DUIs lol), but still found the whole thing interesting. Maybe next time I'll get picked! Until then, I'm glad I got the experience.

I know that nobody will do this but if you want to see how a jury trial works, spend the couple of days sitting in the courtroom. On TV there are always crowds of people but in reality nobody much attends unless they are family, a witness, or working for one of the lawyers.
Better than jurors, you will get to hear the arguments over evidence and law when the jurors are sent out of the courtroom.
The courts are open to the public.

I've never served, or even been called. I did cover a tax evasion trial for a paper years ago, and as I recall, I was the only person there who wasn't part of the proceedings. There might have been one other reporter from the Jacksonville paper besides me observing.

Next you will say that medical dramas are different from real hospital situations! And what, all those crime investigation shows, I suppose THEY aren't like the real thing??

When I was in high school, the seniors always took a fieldtrip, to sit in on a trial (for US Gov.). We got to sit in on a murder trial. We were all so excited, until it turned out to be nothing like on TV. :lol

Relaxing, no. :rotfl figgydad CANNOT stay still, so instead of me spending the day with a good book and no worries, we wound up hiking around a lake, then coming home and going for a LONG bike ride, and then taking the dog for a marathon walk. When we got home from all of THAT, he wanted to go fishing. I told him to call Jim and take him, which he did. After that, I had two hours to myself, which I spent doing all the household stuff that didn't get done while I was out with Marathon Man. NEXT year, Sara and I are going to plan on a day together - shopping, lunch, etc. :thumbs

:lol well, actually, figgydad sounds like my kinda guy... we took one of Leah's friends to school today, and she was saying something about making her parents breakfast in bed, and Leah said "well, we could never do that for my mom, she's always up before us" :rotfl And I got to thinking, the idea is sweet and all, but she's right, it would actually probably annoy me more than anything to have to wait there for them all to wake up and bring me breakfast :goofy :blush

I'll just send figgydad to YOU next Mother's Day. :rotfl Not that I got breakfast in bed, mind you - I never have. :lol I, too, am the first one up, which is why I'm tired at the end of the day, and have no urge to go FISHING after a full day of running around. Yay for the 4-mile run! :thumbs
