I'm looking for something that I could hang in a tree over a beaver lodge to snap some photos and/or video.
Ideally, I'd like something motion activated with good night vision. I don't want to pay too much.
Would something like this work:

How difficult would it be to set up? Would it require any sophisticated software?

It looks like something like this:

Is probably better designed for what I'm trying to do, but that's getting to be more than I want to spend just to play around.
And I don't need the pan and tilt of the first one. I mainly need good night vision (ideally with motion sensor so we only get the action) and a good battery that can withstand rain etc. It needs to send a signal about 50 feet to the house (or store it internally so we can download later).
If anybody has any ideas, let me know.

USA's best known beaver lodge:

"Sophisticated software . . . Downloading later" These actions could lead to hairy palms or blindness.

Children! I'm surounded by children.:tongue
:lol
A guy who works in the plant is bowling in a tournament tonight and he didn't want to leave his bowling balls in the cold car so he asked if he could store them in the lab which is temperature controlled.
. . . so, of course, I kept saying things like: "Sure. I'll take good care of your balls. . . I'll keep your balls nice and warm . . . careful there, I'm sure it's hard to walk when you've got three 15 lb. balls in an enormous bag like you've got there. . . "
